Nala Renewables' 50 MW/100 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Kauhava, Finland, is now energised.

This is a major milestone for Nala Renewables and an important addition to Finland’s rapidly growing energy storage market. The 2-hour BESS will provide flexible capacity to strengthen grid stability and support the continued integration of renewable energy. With energisation complete, the project now moves into commissioning and testing with commercial operations expected in the next months.

Remy Verot, Interim CEO of Nala Renewables, said:

“This project demonstrates our ability to develop, finance, build and operate high-quality renewable energy infrastructure across our core markets. A huge thank you to the teams at Nala Renewables and our partners KSBR, Sungrow and Ramboll for their expertise, collaboration and commitment in delivering this milestone on schedule. Delivering a project of this scale in a remote location in Finland, through challenging winter conditions and complex construction and logistics requirements, is a testament to the strength and dedication of everyone involved.”
