James McLaren appointed as Chief Commercial Officer for Nala Renewables

London, 28 September 2026 - Nala Renewables, a London-headquartered global renewable energy company, is pleased to announce the appointment of James McLaren as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) strengthening its leadership team as the company continues to expand its international renewable energy portfolio and accelerate growth.

James brings more than 25 years of international experience across renewable energy, infrastructure, investments and commercial strategy.  He has advised on and led complex energy transactions across Europe and Asia, spanning project development, acquisitions, financing and long-term revenue contracting.

His experience includes 12 years as a partner at Linklaters,where he was consistently recognised as a market-leading practitioner in the energy and infrastructure sectors. He co-led the firm's global energy sector practice, advising on some of the industry's most complex and innovative transactions.

He subsequently moved from private legal practice to focus on direct participation in the energy transition. Most recently, he was part of the senior leadership team within Liberty Global's energy transition business, supporting the development and financing of utility-scale renewable energy projects backed by long-term corporate power purchase agreements.
