At Nala we come from a variety of backgrounds, but all share the same passion and drive towards achieving net zero.
Julian Johnson
Chief Financial Officer & Management Committee Member
Julian serves as a member of the Management Committee and leads the Finance and Corporate functions at Nala, overseeing Finance, Tax, Treasury, Risk Management, Insurance and IT.
With 20 years of international experience in finance and business management across the energy, telecommunications, and financial services sectors, Julian has worked in a variety of listed companies, private equity, and joint venture arrangements, from start-up phases through to asset and platform exit. He has experience across the full renewable project lifecycle from development and construction through to operations. Prior to joining Nala, Julian was CFO at BTE Renewables. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant, registered with both the ICAEW and SAICA, as well as a certified Finance Leader with CIBA.
Tola Ogunlesi
General Counsel & Management Committee Member
Tola serves as a member of the Management Committee and heads the Legal, Governance and Compliance functions. She also as advises on Nala’s acquisition and development opportunities and supports the assets under management.
Before joining Nala, Tola was at A&O (now A&O Shearman) for almost a decade and advised sponsors, lenders, governments and contractors on all aspects of commercial and governmental contracts in the energy and infrastructure sector. Tola then spent 5 years at Cubico where, amongst other things, she managed legal matters for the in-construction operational assets globally. She is a qualified Solicitor in England and Wales.
Remy Verot
Chief Operating Officer & Management Committee Member
Remy serves as a member of the Management Committee and heads Nala’s Operations, overseeing the Development, Technical, Construction and Asset Management teams.
Remy has extensive experience across the renewables value chain spanning over 15 years and has been involved in the strategy and planning, to the execution and delivery, of renewables projects. He was previously an Investment Director at IFM Investors and held a Board Manager role on IFM’s Net Zero Infra Fund. Prior to that, Remy held Director positions at Greencoat Capital, Glenmont Partners and EDF Renewables, based in both England and France.
Will Herlinger
Head of Investment & Management Committee Member
Will serves as a member of the Management Committee and leads the Investment Team with overall responsibility for Nala’s M&A, financing, and investment management activities.
Will joined Nala in late 2023 bringing over 12 years of experience in investment, renewables and project development to the Nala team. Prior to joining Nala, he was an Investment Director at private equity firm, Amber Infrastructure, where he spent nine years focused on origination, transaction and investment management activities in the renewables, energy storage and core infrastructure sectors. He also served as an Investment Board Member for three years at Enery Development, a CEE focused IPP active in the solar, wind and BESS sectors.
Nikolas Stone
Head of ESG
Nik is responsible for the implementation of systems and processes aligned with our ESG Policy.
Prior to joining Nala, Nik was an ESG Director at British International Investment and led the ESG work across their infrastructure portfolio.
Ruben Castro
Head of Construction
Ruben leads the Construction team, overseeing the management of assets from the Notice to Proceed stage to the Commercial Operation Date.
With over 15 years’ experience in renewable energy, Ruben has successfully executed over 2GW of utility-scale projects worldwide. He previously worked extensively in the US and across Latin America, before moving to the UK to join Nala.
Roberto Anastasia
Head of Asset Management
Roberto leads the AM team at Nala, managing the portfolio of operational assets.
During his career in renewables, Roberto has been involved in the management of c.1.3 GW of solar PV and BESS plants across Europe, Latin America, Asia and Australia. He has held senior positions at both Mytilineos and Bluefield.
Enrique Ariztia
Regional Head – LATAM
Enrique is responsible for portfolio development, construction and operation in the LATAM region and is based in Santiago, Chile.
With a long career history in renewables, Enrique has previously held positions at Total, Enel, Atlas Renewable Energy and First Solar.
Cindy Nasser
Head of Risk
Cindy leads Risk Management including the insurance programme for both corporate and project level cover, company secretarial and compliance. She brings her wealth of experience to also head the South African office.
Cindy joined Nala from BTE Renewables where she headed the Risk Management function, having previously worked at Ernst & Young as an Audit Manager. She is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
Joanne Li
HR Manager
Joanne is responsible for touchpoints across the entire employee life cycle.
Bringing over 15 years’ experience in people-related roles to Nala’s growing global team. Joanne previously worked at HSBC and PwC in Australia and Hong Kong, before moving to the UK.
