Construction work has begun on the Green Breeze wind park. Located mainly in the municipality of Cuca in the county of Galati, with a capacity of 99.2 MW, it will consist of 16 Vestas V162 V162-6.2 MW™ turbines, with commissioning expected to start in 2025.

“We are delighted to mark this important milestone for one of Nala’s largest projects to date. We will be overviewing the construction and operation of this large 99.2MW onshore wind park through our active construction and asset management teams. Romania is one of Nala’s core markets with a solid outlook for renewables and an investment grade rated country with strong government support for renewables. This achievement is a testament to the hard work of our team and demonstrates our ability to secure contracted assets and capitalise on the increased demand for renewable energy power purchase agreements from multinational organisations. We look forward to continuing this momentum in the coming months in Romania and the broader CEE region,” said Remy Verot, COO at Nala Renewables.

"We are committed to being a reliable, long-term partner for Romania's energy transition and this is another step in that direction. After recently finalising the first OX2 partnership in Romania, we are now starting the construction of this project for which we will manage the entire lifecycle, from development to operation. Green Breeze highlights the successful collaboration between central and local authorities and renewable energy investors for a sustainable future of Romania," said Lăcrămioara Diaconu-Pințea, Country Manager OX2 Romania.

Nala acquired the Green Breeze project in August 2024. Once commissioned, OX2 will be responsible for the technical and commercial management of the project, overseeing operations and optimizing with Nala’s Asset Management. The wind park's forecasted annual energy production is 312 GWh, covering the annual electricity consumption of 51,000 households and contributing to a reduction of about 150,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year*.
